For decades, studying living cells meant a tradeoff: measure millions of them in a frozen snapshot, or follow a handful in detail over time. TeraCyte's platform ends the tradeoff, watching millions of individual cells at once and tracking how each one changes over time. It's opening new ground in drug development, bio-production, and research, with Nobel Laureate Roger Kornberg backing the science. TeraCyte isn't playing in an existing category. It's building one from scratch. Ambitious science - it needed a brand and a story to match.

Overview

The challenge

TeraCyte's science was years ahead of anything else in the field, but their brand and design materials weren't keeping pace. There was no cohesive visual identity, no product design system, and no way to communicate a deeply technical platform to both researchers and investors without losing one audience or the other. They needed a complete creative foundation: one capable of holding its own in a peer-reviewed journal, a Series A pitch, and a LinkedIn feed simultaneously.
“
Our platform does something genuinely new, but we show up to investor meetings and research conferences with visuals that look like everyone else in biotech. We need a brand and a full design system that actually reflects what we've built.
”

How we brought it to life

We built TeraCyte's world from the ground up, starting with a bold brand identity and logo that could carry the weight of deep science without feeling cold or academic. From there, we extended the system across every touchpoint: product design, UI kit, custom illustrations, motion, pitch decks, one-pagers, and social media. What they walked away with was a fully realized brand ecosystem, built to scale with them from early research through commercialization.

Here’s what we delivered:

  • Branding Concept & Logo Design
  • Brand Guide & Visual Identity
  • Website Design UX & UI
  • Product Design
  • Illustrations & Graphics
  • Motion & Animation
  • Pitch Deck Designs & Templates
  • Marketing Assets

Branding concept & logo design
A mark built for discovery

TeraCyte needed a brand identity that felt precise, pioneering, and alive: something that could stand beside Nobel Laureates and still feel modern. We designed a mark that channels the visual language of biology and technology in equal measure: structured, bold, and built to last across every surface and scale.

Website design Deep science, light touch

TeraCyte's platform has five interlocking components and audiences ranging from bench scientists to biotech investors - the website had to speak fluently to all of them. We designed a clean, modern site that makes complex technology feel accessible without dumbing it down, letting the science breathe through structure, hierarchy, and motion.

Product design
Complexity, elegantly hidden

The TeraCyte platform processes millions of cells and hundreds of parameters - the product UI had to make that feel effortless. We designed an interface that keeps the depth of the science intact while putting researchers in full control, building flows that reduce friction and let the data speak.

UI kit
One system, every science

With a platform this layered, visual consistency isn't just aesthetic. It's functional. We built a brand guide that gives TeraCyte a coherent design language across print, product, and presentations, creating a system their team can grow into without losing the thread. Every rule in the guide earns its place.

Illustrations & graphics
Science, drawn with soul

No off-the-shelf icon set could do justice to Temporal Cytometry™. We created a custom illustration language rooted in cellular biology: abstract enough to feel modern, precise enough to be credible. These visuals give TeraCyte a personality that lives beyond the logo and communicates their technology in a single glance.

Motion & animation
The living brand

Biology is dynamic, and TeraCyte's brand needed to be too. We brought the identity to life through motion: animations that mirror the temporal resolution at the heart of their technology. From UI transitions to explainer sequences, every movement was designed to feel like the science itself: precise, fluid, and in constant motion.

Marketing assets From lab to market

We designed a full suite of one-pagers, scientific papers, and social media templates that extend the brand into every channel TeraCyte uses to grow. Each asset is visually consistent and strategically structured, whether it's landing in a researcher's inbox, appearing in a LinkedIn feed, or being handed out at a biotech conference.

Why it worked

TeraCyte's technology is genuinely unprecedented. The design challenge was making sure the brand could keep up. By building every asset from a single, coherent identity system, we gave them something rare in deep tech: a brand that feels as advanced as the science it represents. Researchers trust it. Investors believe it. And the team can scale it.
